7 july 1962 - Monheim am Rhein (DE) – Bahnhof. A rare picture of a scarcely-known, 13km long tramway in the Rhein region of Germany. Although the Monheim tramways closed to passengers in 1963, the company, which is one of the oldest in Germany, still operates several railways and bus lines in the region today, using electric and diesel locomotives and around thirty buses. These pretty little DWB Verbandstyp trams were scrapped some years after passenger services ended – a great shame, as one would look good in my garden. (photo: Ing G Gerlach)
