The western extension of Line 1, which serves factories where only a limited service is needed outside peak hours, is often operated by solo car 44 which is an unusual Tatra T4, converted for double-ended operation (although there are doors on only one side). This tram normally waits in the loop which marks the normal end of Line 1 operation, then goes on to provide a shuttle service to the far terminus.
