23 may 2005 - Bytom – plac Sikorskiego. Back at the track repairs, a Star engineering truck has arrived and welding has begun. This is the traditional way of getting electrical power to do the welding – a pole is hooked over the overhead wire to reach the 600 volt supply. This is something you no longer see very often. Here, it appears to be a three-man operation – one to do the work and two to stand and watch – I thought this was only an English disease?

In Silesia they also stopped using pole. And a-lot-of-men operations are very Polish tradition. :-P
