@Adam G.: Hydromechaniczne przeniesienie napędu to przeniesienie poprzez automatyczną skrzynię biegów składającą się z przekładni hydrokinetycznej i przekładni obiegowych. Czyli skrzynia taka jak we współczesnych autobusach miejskich. Sterowanie natomiast może być automatyczne lub półautomatyczne.
@Mad_BOSS: That's a bit surprising, although even British Routemasters from 1950s were equipped with automatic gearbox.
But the Routemasters were not designed for mass-production, and the LiAZ - was: there were over 200000 677's produced. There was another problem: it was an petrol-to-smoke converter, "eating" over 60 liters of petrol for 100 kilometers. In 90s it was the main reason of massive regectioin of these transmissions (some operators installed the mechanical gearbox from ZIL 130) or of the whole buses...
By the way, when I tried to drive it, I didn't find difference in driving method with cars with automatic transmision: just select the motion mode and drive
