29 december 2023 - Ghioroc, tram terminus. Old Duewag taking its time to sleep until the next job. Currently the line to Arad is closed for maintenance, so the sleep will be longer this time

20 july 2022 - Ghioroc. Przejażdżka tym wagonem do Ghioroc to było istne piekło. Małe otwierane lufciki już w normalnych warunkach mało dają, a jeszcze przy prędkości 20 km/h przez całą trasę to w środku był istny piekarnik. Po prawej stronie rumuńska młodzież zmierzająca dla ochłody nad pobliskie jezioro.

20 july 2022 - Ghioroc. 40 stopni w cieniu, a w słońcu to pewnie i z 50 - jeziorko po prawej było naszym zbawieniem i uratowało przed udarem słonecznym. A sam składzik helmutów dojechał do pętli i zjechał na pusto na trójkąt torowy w Sambateni. Pewnie motorniczy mieszka gdzieś obok.

22 august 2016 - Ghioroc. Tramwaj dojeżdża do trójkąta na którym zakończy długa podróż z Aradu. Wagon wyprodukowany w 1963 roku do roku 1995 kursował na linii Rhein-Haardtbahn nieopodal Mannheim, na której obowiązuje sterowanie kolejowe - stąd trzeci reflektor w miejscu, gdzie zwykle znajduje się numer linii.

22 august 2016 - Droga DJ708C pomiędzy miejscowościami Sâmbăteni a Ghioroc. Nad rozległe stepy nadciąga gwałtowna sierpniowa burza. Około 15 minut przed przejazdem tramwaju przemierzało je duże stado owiec, prowadzone przez pasterza i kilka psów pasterskich. Prawdopodobnie uciekali z pastwiska przed nadciągającą burzą. Po ich przejściu okolica pozostała pusta, przez kolejne minuty przejechały może ze 2 samochody. A później widoczny na zdjęciu Duewag sprowadzony do Aradu w 2006 roku z Essen, niespiesznie turlający się w kierunku trójkąta torowego w Ghioroc.

22 august 2016 - Ghioroc, trójkąt torowy w centralnym punkcie tej niewielkiej miejscowości. Jest wczesne przedpołudnie, znad gór nadciąga burza. Przed momentem z odległego o ponad 20km Aradu przyturlał się 40-letni Duewag sprowadzony 10 lat wcześniej z Essen. Właśnie wycofuje na przystanek początkowy i za parę minut jako linia 11 wróci do Aradu. Przyjazd tramwaju (co następuje ledwie kilka razy na dobę) zakłócił sielski spokój wioski, nieliczni pasażerowie, którzy przyjechali tramwajem rozchodzą się do domów, grupa mężczyzn sączących trunki pod sklepem przygląda się manewrujacemu pojazdowi. Oczywiście jak to bywa w takich przypadkach, wymyślony kadr staje się niewykonalny za sprawą przechodnia, który zmierza do celu na przełaj przez skrzyżowanie oraz rowerzystki, która przejeżdża nieomal równo z wagonem tramwajowym. Szybkie przekadrowanie, strzał i wyszło, co wyszło. Na szczęście to miejsce jest tak klimatyczne, że jakkolwiek zostanie ujęte, to i tak cieszy oko. Moim zdaniem pozycja obowiązkowa dla "tramwajowych podróżników" ;-)

4 april 2011 - Ghioroc (RO). A typical view in the centre of this busy village. There seems to be a new arrangement these days, to park a spare tram set here during the day (perhaps because the afternoon timetable requires it). This is an ex-RHB set from the Mannheim district, complete with a very rare articulated trailer – only a few of these were built and they are now very scarce.

11 september 2009 - Ghioroc. Absolutny hit Aradu i chyba najbardziej klimatyczna linia tramwajowa w Rumunii. Jedenastka między 13 a 19 zjawia się tu średnio co godzinę. Wcześniej i później częstotliwość jest mniejsza, tramwaj pojawia się nawet co ponad dwie godziny. Trasa z położonego ponad 20km stąd Aradu biegnie w większości wzdłuż głównej drogi, w Sambateni odbija na środek pola i dociera do pętli w samym sercu wioski :) Dawniej można było dojechać jeszcze dalej, czego pamiątką jest wiata z wymalowanymi nazwami miejscowości, położona na środku torowego trójkąta.

6 october 2008 - Arad – Ghiroc depou/zajezdnia. The impressive front of a Sageate Verde motor tram – image one of these coming down the road towards you! If you can’t, look at those glorious pictures at http://tramclub.org/viewtopic.php?t=5347 and http://tramclub.org/viewtopic.php?t=760. At least the line still remains (Arad to Ghiroc, at least) and restored trams like these still run occasionally for tram fans. The Arad-Ghiroc line was the first electric railway in Eastern Europe.

6 october 2008 - Arad – Ghiroc depou/zajezdnia. Inside the tiny depot are several more motor trams and matching trailers, some fully restored. Photography is very difficult, though. Note the compartment marked for 1st Class. These trams were supplied by Ganz of Budapest in 1912, when Arad was still under Hungarian rule. The line was originally operated by a separate company – Podgoria IJTL or Podgoria Electric Railway – but later passed to Romanian Railways (CFR) before Arad city tramways took over in 1984.

Talking with Adam G reminded me that I have some photos of the huge interurban bogie trams (almost like trains) of the Sageata Verde line that once ran from Arad to Ghiroc and other villages to the east. Here is one of those cars at the museum depot in Ghiroc. Amazingly, they worked from 1912 until 1991 (!). 6 october 2008 - Ghioroc, Romania – depot/zajezdnia. The little tram depot was once exclusively to serve the interurban line from Arad, but is nowadays kept as a museum store and a resting place for other odds and ends. This smartly-restored V56 car was used extensively on the Arad city lines until the 1970s. It didn’t work on the Ghioroc line, though, which was then separate and ran very large and impressive Ganz interurban cars.

6 october 2008 - Ghioroc, Romania. An ex-Rhein-Haardt-Bahn GT6 with matching trailer passes the tram depot on the way to Arad. Articulated trailers like this were never that common and there certainly aren’t many around these days.

6 october 2008 - Ghioroc, Romania. Arad 301 reverses into the terminus in Ghioroc village ready for the long trip back to Arad. The car and trailer are ex-OEG, Mannheim and are regularly to be found on this trip – these are proper ‘long distance’ interurban cars and very comfortable inside. The window curtains are fitted on every Romanian bus and tram. The white building on the left is the former tramway station.

Duwag GT6 car 301 and its matching bogie trailer came to Arad from the OEG interurban and are still in original livery. Note the horse and cart – still typical transport for many farmers hereabouts.

2008 - Ghioroc, Romania. Every tram enthusiast should go here – once a junction on a roadside electric railway, it is now the terminus of a long interurban tramway from Arad. Ex-RHB GT6 and matching trailer reverse along the triangle in the village centre before returning to Arad.

30 december 2002 - Ghioroc (Rumunia). Czym byłaby wizyta w Aradzie bez jazdy tramwajem do oddalonego o 22 km miasteczka Ghioroc. Do 1991 tramwaje docierały jeszcze kilkanaście kilometrów dalej do miejscowości Pancota i Radna. Obecnie trzeba się przesiadać w takiego oto Ikarusa.

5 october 2005 - Ghioroc, pod Aradem. Skomunikowanie z tramwajem ;) Autobus ma jeszcze naklejkę poprzedniego właściciela: "SNG Städtische Nachverkehrsgesellschaft mbH", oraz drugi numer taborowy 92377, ale ciężko stwierdzić, czy to miejscowy numer, czy niemiecki. Ktoś ma jakieś pomysły co do SNG?
